From the summer of 2010 to the summer 2011, i worked as a part of the animation production of the up-coming Nickelodeon series, AVATAR: THE LEGEND OF KORRA in Seoul, Korea. I was an in-house, storyboard staffer at "STUDIO MIR," the Korean, animation studio responsible for Korra's Animation production.
Here are some rough, early, warm-up personality scribbles i did before starting on the storyboards back then. Fun stuff.

I was part of TEAM 2 staff @ STUDIO MIR which consisted of myself, animator HAN KWANG IL and the incomparable animation monster KIM YOUNG CHAN ( one board artist for each chapter ).

*These are off-model. Before the staff had an approved, final design of Korra*

i never got the chance to see the original series, but i've caught every episode of Korra. thus far i love it all - the characters, the scenery, the action... it's all so wonderfully-done. i especially like how Korra isn't this flimsy little nothing, like so many girls in anime - she has a fighter's build.

LeSean, I heard you were going to Korea but didn't know it was to work on Avatar. What an amazing life experience. Truly Awesome! Congratulations man! Keep being awesome dude!
